# Junior Data Analyst (Energy)### Data and Analytics## Junior Data Analyst (Energy)Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom**Salary: £28,000 - £32000**This is a hugely exciting entry-level opportunity to join as the fourth member of UniHomes’ newly formed Data & Analytics team. As Junior Energy Analyst you’ll become an expert on the Energy (Gas & Electric) usage of our customer base. You’ll work with our Energy Analyst and the Finance team to review our supplier invoices each month and ensure we have strong understanding of any discrepancies from our forecasts. You’ll assist with wider projects and ad hoc reporting for Energy data - applying skills in Python, Excel, SQL, and Tableau. It’s a very supportive, welcoming environment with tons of opportunities to learn and develop in your career. **Key responsibilities:**Manage monthly reporting on our supplier invoices:* Summarise the invoice and how it compares to our Forecasts and proactively provide reporting packs to Finance that enable them to understand any variances from the forecast.* Complete additional in-depth analysis as needed to provide further understanding.* Contribute to and lead regular meetings with Ops and other teams to discuss monthly KPIs related to invoicing and related actions for their teams.* Proactively and continuously work to improve these processes – using your skillset in Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau amongst other tools - to enable our Finance team to query and pay invoices each month most effectively.Contribute to wider projects and ad hoc reporting for Energy data. This will vary but examples of what this might include:* Building a Tableau dashboard to show how energy usage has varied in the last year from forecast and how this correlates with the weather.* Calculating individual property usage and advising different teams including Legal, Operations and Sales to assist with specific customer or supplier queries.* Updating SQL files within our data pipelines (DBT) to reflect the invoicing status and adding additional details to the final table outputs.**Skills and experience:**Essential:* Strong communication skills. Ask effective questions to understand the wider context and provide concise, insightful recommendations.* Strong aptitude for analysing large highly complex data sets with high attention to detail to analyse row-level details, identify trends and segment data for greater clarity.* Demonstrable experience of proactively building out automations and other processes to help increase efficiency and improve the use of Data.* High numeracy - the role involves lots of Maths!* Strong capability with Microsoft Excel – for example using pivot tables and multi-step formulas including IF, XLOOKUP, AVERAGEIFS. Ability to quickly review data in Excel and use visualisations and pivot tables to get an overview.* Experience with Python. Demonstrable examples of applying Python to collate data, cleanse data, analyse and identify trends, write custom functions, and visualise data. Desirable:* Experience with SQL.
