OVERVIEW The Admissions Immigration Compliance Manager at University of the Arts London is responsible for leading immigration compliance activity within the admissions function for international applicants. Based in a hybrid arrangement between UAL High Holborn and home working, the role supports compliant admissions processes in line with UK immigration requirements and sponsor guidance. The position works closely with the central Immigration Compliance Team to maintain consistency across the applicant journey while supporting a positive applicant experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of immigration compliance within UAL's admissions function
  • Ensure international applicants are assessed, processed, and confirmed in line with UK immigration requirements and sponsor guidance
  • Work closely with the central Immigration Compliance Team to maintain consistent practices across the applicant journey
  • Oversee the assessment of applicant documentation
  • Lead financial credibility checks
  • Ensure appropriate verification of qualifications, English language ability, immigration history, and applicant credibility
  • Support compliant CAS preparation
  • Provide expert advice and training to colleagues
  • Monitor changes in immigration legislation and sponsor guidance
  • Contribute to policy development, audit readiness, and continuous service improvement
  • Safeguard the University's sponsor licence while supporting the recruitment of international students
  • Act as the primary point of contact for immigration compliance matters within admissions
  • Advise and train colleagues across recruitment and academic teams
  • Support audits and produce compliance reporting
  • Manage complex or high-risk applicant cases
  • Deliver a responsive, applicant-focused service

Requirements

  • Knowledge of UK immigration requirements and sponsor guidance
  • Ability to assess and process international applicant cases in line with compliance standards
  • Experience overseeing applicant documentation assessment
  • Ability to conduct financial credibility checks
  • Knowledge of qualification verification, English language assessment, immigration history review, and applicant credibility assessment
  • Ability to support compliant CAS preparation
  • Experience providing advice and training to colleagues
  • Ability to monitor changes in immigration legislation and sponsor guidance
