The Department for Education has announced that the British Council is set to take on the role of National Agency for Erasmus+. In December the UK and EU arrived at a political agreement that the UK would rejoin the Erasmus+ scheme in 2027. That agreement has now been legally formalised under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The British Council has a longstanding commitment to supporting international exchange. It was a lead partner in the Erasmus+ UK National Agency from 2014-20, where Erasmus+ made a significant contribution to the UK's cultural relations activities, funding 8,091 projects, engaging 583,757 UK participants, and awarding around €1.1 billion to UK organisations.

Pay Band: Grade 7

Salary: Β£30,839 gross per annum

Contract Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension

Location: Scotland

Role Purpose: The E+ DiscoverEU Inclusion Manager will be responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of the DiscoverEU Learning Cycle, ensuring inclusive, high-quality learning and engagement opportunities for participants. The role oversees the operational delivery of key programme activities, embeds inclusive practices to increase participation for young people with fewer opportunities, and works closely with delivery partners to ensure services meet programme requirements and quality standards. The postholder will also contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities, using data and participant feedback to drive continuous improvement and maximise programme impact and learning outcomes.

Main Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and delivering key elements of the DiscoverEU Learning Cycle, including pre-departure activities, European meet-ups, and post-travel engagement opportunities.
  • Supporting participant engagement and communication throughout the programme lifecycle to ensure a positive and meaningful experience.
  • Embedding inclusive and accessible practices across all programme activities, helping to reduce barriers and increase participation for young people with fewer opportunities.
  • Monitoring participant feedback and engagement data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced learning outcomes.
  • Planning and coordinating events and activities, including logistics, suppliers, facilitation, and participant support.
  • Supporting the development of engaging learning content, themes, and approaches that align with programme objectives.
  • Managing relationships with delivery partners, suppliers, and youth organisations to ensure high-quality service delivery and programme outcomes.
  • Monitoring supplier and partner performance against agreed standards, outputs, and contractual requirements.
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including youth organisations, delivery partners, and other National Agencies where appropriate.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health.
