Overview:
Unify are delighted to be recruiting for a Transport Administrator to join a leading provider of Plant Hire, Transport and Haulage service throughout the UK who are currently undergoing remarkable growth whilst supporting the UK’s Construction sector.
You will be tasked with supporting the Transport Team by handling a variety of administrative tasks that keep workflows organised.
What do I need?
- Transport experience
- Previous working experience within a busy administrative role.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the allocation and coordination of daily tasks to ensure the smooth running of transport operations.
- Arrange all required movement documentation for plant equipment, including securing the necessary notifications in advance for any items covered under STGO regulations.
- Maintain records of driver availability by updating systems with holiday schedules and absences.
- Under the direction of senior transport leadership, issue purchase orders to approved suppliers for parts, repair work, and related services.
- Support the Transport Manager by organising vehicle inspections and ensuring that all compliance-related activities are scheduled in line with statutory requirements.
- Manage departmental paperwork, ensuring all records are completed correctly, verified and stored appropriately.
- Contribute to raising operational standards throughout the transport function by identifying areas for improvement and promoting best practice.
- Monitor departmental expenditure and highlight opportunities where operational cost efficiencies may be achieved.
- Compile and submit weekly driver timesheets to Payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate vehicle bookings for major projects to ensure alignment with customer timelines and delivery expectations.
- Make daily customer update calls to confirm estimated arrival times and maintain strong service communication.
Desirable:
- Prior experience with plant machinery
Monday – Friday office based, due to the nature of the role the working hours are 8am – 5:30pm.
