Role Overview
We are seeking a fully qualified Building Services Electrician to join our expanding team. This role is focused predominantly on electrical installations, with occasional maintenance responsibilities. You will work across a variety of sensitive and operationally critical environments, so a strong safety mindset and professional conduct are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation works across healthcare, education, and secure facilities, adhering to BS 7671 and all site-specific requirements.
- Complete occasional planned and reactive maintenance, including fault-finding, repairs, and upgrading electrical systems.
- Install containment, wiring, distribution equipment and associated electrical components to a high standard.
- Conduct inspection and testing when required and complete associated certification accurately.
- Work within live, sensitive, or controlled environments, following strict security and safety procedures.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with risk assessments, method statements, and statutory regulations.
- Communicate clearly with clients, site teams, and internal colleagues.
- Maintain digital records, job sheets, and documentation.
- Participate in overtime work and travel when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven background as an Electrician within commercial or industrial building services.
- Strong installation experience is essential; maintenance skills are beneficial.
- Experience working in Healthcare, Education, or Secure environments is advantageous.
- Ability to diagnose faults, interpret drawings, and work independently across multiple sites.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and security protocols.
- Professional, reliable, and able to represent the business positively.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) β essential.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations β essential.
- 2391 / 2394 / 2395 Inspection & Testing β desirable.
- ECS / CSCS card β required.
- Full UK driving licence β required.
- Valid DBS β beneficial (or willingness to obtain).
