I am working with a client within the Facilities Management sector who have a requirement for a Fire System Engineer to work with them in the London area. Since their launch in 2009, they quickly grew the business into one of the UK's industry leading fire and security specialists. My client can give you a space to develop and adapt your skills to suit your career prospects, offering training schemes and ensuring a positive working environment.

Fire Service Engineer Role:

  • Perform system maintenance and fault finding, respond to emergency callouts, and handle reactive, minor, or additional tasks related to the following systems: Automatic fire detection systems, Fire extinguishing systems (Gas Suppression) and Fire Aspiration Alarm Systems.
  • Carry out any minor remedial/fault rectification works necessary during any PPM visit.
  • Assist colleagues when required with technical issues.
  • Ensure all systems worked upon are left operational where possible. Escalate urgent and critical problems prior to leaving site. Review alternative solutions; there is a need to be resourceful at all times.
  • Assist in the development of trainees, mentoring them in the business working/best practice methods and report good progress or any areas of concern to your Service Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain effective Client relationships and assist in gaining future work by relaying leads and survey information to the sales team.
  • Attend and prepare for engineers meetings when required.

Requirements for the Fire Service Engineer:

  • Proven experience in the fire industry, and ability to install, test, commission and service Fire Alarm Systems and/or Security Systems.
  • Excellent servicing, diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination or technical recommendations.
  • Computer literate, good general IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. Understanding and ability of software programming on main line products such as Morley, Advanced, Kentec etc.
