An experienced Commercial Gas Engineer is required to carry out servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of commercial gas and heating systems. This role is focused entirely on commercial environments, working within plant rooms and boiler houses across a varied portfolio of sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for both planned and reactive works, ensuring all gas and mechanical plant operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on commercial boilers and gas-fired plant
- Complete PPM schedules and reactive maintenance
- Diagnose and rectify faults across gas and mechanical heating systems
- Work within plant rooms and boiler rooms on commercial heating infrastructure
- Replace and maintain pumps, pressure units, and associated mechanical components
- Ensure safe operation of all commercial gas appliances
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship
- Accurately complete service reports and compliance documentation
- Support wider coverage areas when required, including occasional North London cover
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Fully qualified Commercial Gas Engineer with current commercial and domestic gas certifications
- Gas Safe registered with relevant tickets including CCN1, CODNCO1, COCN1 (and associated modules)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer
- Proven experience with commercial heating plant, boilers, and gas systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent standards
Working Environment
- Commercial-only sites β no domestic properties
- Predominantly plant rooms and boiler rooms
- Focus on service, maintenance, and breakdown works
- Mechanical and gas plant maintenance
Location & Coverage
- Based around South London and Middlesex areas
- Covering South London, Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and Hampshire
- Occasional North London cover required when supporting the wider team
- Majority of northern work concentrated around the Cambridge area
