Our established Consultancy client urgently requires the services of a Code Review Consultant on an Outside IR35 Contract basis for a short 20 day piece of work, full time.
We're looking for:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in software development, ideally as a Head of Development, Principal Engineer, or Senior Architect.
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth code reviews, identify inefficiencies, security risks, and architectural flaws.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and modern frameworks.
- Strong grasp of architectural principles, system scalability, and best practices for maintainability.
- Ability to diagnose critical issues, performance bottlenecks, and suggest practical fixes.
- Experience in troubleshooting failing projects, applying structured recovery plans, and stabilizing codebases.
- Familiarity with modern deployment pipelines such as DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and automation tools.
- Strong leadership presence, senior gravitas, with the ability to influence teams and articulate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with Agile, Scrum, or other development methodologies.
- Understanding of security best practices, data privacy laws, and regulatory requirements in software development.
- Ability to understand legacy systems and understand the process(es) to modernise.
- Ability to present findings to executives, provide clear documentation, and create an action plan for recovery.
