Responsibilities

  • Ensure (in conjunction with the Plant Manager and site SHE Manager) that all engineering work is designed, procured and delivered in a safe, controlled and lawful manner, compliant with all relevant legislation.
  • Fully support and comply with company HSE and Quality Policies.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance strategy that meets the needs of the business through measurement and analysis of the site’s performance, in conjunction with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Ensuring the operational delivery of the engineering budget and reporting against established KPI’s.
  • Ensure delivery of continuous improvement through leadership.
  • Align the strategy of Process Engineering to fulfil improvement activities.
  • Identify, provide and facilitate solutions to engineering and technical problems.
  • Manage the development of technical strategies, documents, contracts, processes and specifications to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency in all technical engineering activities.
  • Manage the periodic shutdown of plant equipment, liaise and control contractors and sub‑contractors and procure spares and materials.
  • Ensure equipment is delivered on time and to budget, and develop remedial strategies when shortfalls are identified.
  • Develop and manage the technical practice and standards of the Company.
  • Ensure the retention and adherence to accredited standards.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering legislation (e.g. LOLER, Legionella, Pressure Vessels, Fixed Installation Testing, PAT, F gas, Gas regs).
  • Ensure that maintenance and production standards are observed and applied.
  • Develop technical capability within the team.
  • Identify and assess the value and capability of new or additional technologies.
  • Take responsibility for managing revenue and capital projects as and when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Formal TPM, Six Sigma, WCM, TPS or Lean training related to world‑class maintenance processes, with relevant experience of successful implementation and management of an engineering function.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from production and maintenance employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
