Contract: Maternity Cover until end of June 2026

Location: Camberwell, London SE5 0UB (Zone 2)

Hours: Full time, 8.30am - 4.00pm, term time only (39 weeks)

Salary: Β£24,817 - Β£27,007 (FTE, pro-rata)

About the Role

Uniform Education is working with a fantastic independent SEN school we support in the Camberwell area. They are seeking a passionate and reliable Teaching & Learning Support Assistant (TLSA) to join their friendly team on a maternity cover basis. The school caters for girls aged with complex social, emotional, educational and attachment difficulties. They provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment focused on helping each pupil reach their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured learning activities
  • Maintain a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assist students in their personal and academic development, promoting independence
  • Work collaboratively with staff to support emotional and behavioural needs
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times

Person Specification

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
  • Empathetic, patient and resilient with a strong understanding of students' individual needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional and calm under pressure
  • Ability to use initiative and adapt to changing needs
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs is highly desirable
