About the Role
Uniform Education is working with a fantastic independent SEN school we support in the Camberwell area. They are seeking a passionate and reliable Teaching & Learning Support Assistant (TLSA) to join their friendly team on a maternity cover basis. The school caters for girls aged with complex social, emotional, educational and attachment difficulties. They provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment focused on helping each pupil reach their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured learning activities
- Maintain a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist students in their personal and academic development, promoting independence
- Work collaboratively with staff to support emotional and behavioural needs
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times
Person Specification
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
- Empathetic, patient and resilient with a strong understanding of students' individual needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Professional and calm under pressure
- Ability to use initiative and adapt to changing needs
- Experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs is highly desirable
