SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-Time, Term-Time Only Location: Sutton Start Date: ASAP UES1 About the Role We are looking for a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Sutton. You will support pupils with a range of special educational needs and learning difficulties, helping them access learning, develop communication and social skills, and build confidence and independence within a structured and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support * Support differentiated and personalised learning activities * Assist with communication and social development * Promote confidence, independence and engagement * Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation * Follow individual EHCP targets and support plans * Assist with personal care where required * Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team What We’re Looking For Essential: * Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN * Patient, caring and adaptable approach * Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Comfortable supporting personal care where required * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service * Right to Work in the UK Desirable: * Previous experience within a specialist SEN school * Experience supporting ASD, MLD, SLD or PMLD * Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, AAC or sensory approaches * Manual handling / moving and handling experience What This Role Offers * ASAP start * Full-time, Monday – Friday position * Specialist SEN school environment * Supportive and experienced SEN team * Opportunity to develop specialist SEN experience * Long-term opportunity with potential for permanent work
