About the Role

As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

• Assess, plan, and deliver therapy programmes tailored to pupils\’ individual communication profiles
• Provide direct and indirect intervention using a range of approaches, including AAC systems (PECS, Makaton, high-tech devices)
• Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other therapists to embed communication strategies across the curriculum
• Support staff and parents/carers with training, guidance, and advice to promote consistent communication support
• Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and progress reports
• Supervise junior therapists or assistants as appropriate

What We\’re Looking For

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration
• Experience working with children and young people with SEN, ASC, SLD, or PMLD
• Skilled in using a range of communication tools, including low-tech and high-tech AAC systems
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs
