A welcoming school in Slough is seeking an experienced and organised SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team on a maternity cover basis starting after the Easter half term. About the Role
- Lead and manage the school's SEN provision in line with statutory requirements
- Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, reviews, and SEN support plans
- Work closely with teachers to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching and differentiation
- Monitor the progress of pupils with SEN and implement targeted interventions
- Liaise with parents, external agencies, and local authorities
- Support and train staff on SEN strategies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- NPQ SENCO qualification - essential
- Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role
- Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and SEN legislation
- Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
