We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Pinner. This unique role combines sports coaching with classroom-based learning support, using physical activity to promote engagement, teamwork, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Sports Coaching
- Lead and organise structured sports and physical activities that promote teamwork, cooperation, and leadership
- Develop inclusive sports programmes that engage pupils of all abilities
- Use sport as a tool to support behaviour regulation, confidence, and social skills
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all physical activities
- Support teachers with classroom management and pupil engagement
- Provide targeted support to pupils, particularly those with Autism (ASC)
- Integrate physical activity into learning to support focus and participation
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups as required
- Promote mental wellbeing, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through physical activity
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual needs
- Work collaboratively with staff to plan activities, events, and enrichment programmes
- Maintain basic records of pupil progress and engagement
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues
- Experience in sports coaching, ideally within an educational setting
- Ability to use sport to develop life skills, confidence, and emotional regulation
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism or SEN (highly desirable)
- Relevant coaching qualifications preferred
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about sport and inclusive education
