About the Role
- Plan and deliver highly individualised, sensory-rich learning experiences tailored to complex needs
- Create engaging, meaningful opportunities for learning that support curiosity, communication, and independence
- Support pupils’ communication, interaction, physical development, and emotional regulation
- Work closely with a skilled team of support staff, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support
- Use a range of specialist approaches such as sensory learning, intensive interaction, and alternative communication systems (e.g. AAC, PECs, Makaton where appropriate)
- Build and maintain a safe, calm, and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel secure and ready to learn
- Track and celebrate small steps of progress through EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the school to share ideas, best practice, and ensure consistency of provision
- Develop strong, positive relationships with families and carers, working in partnership to support each child’s journey

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working within SEN, ideally with PMLD or pupils with complex needs
- A strong understanding of personalised, child-centred and sensory-based learning approaches
- A calm, patient, nurturing, and empathetic teaching style
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- A reflective practitioner who is open to learning and professional development
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for all pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
