A supportive and inclusive school in Brent is seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development.

The Role
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
- Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
- Support behaviour management and promote positive conduct across the school
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, safeguarding leads, and external agencies
- Support attendance, punctuality, and engagement in learning
- Act as a trusted adult, building strong and positive relationships with pupils
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral plans and interventions
About You
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting in the UK
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
- Resilient, reliable, and emotionally intelligent
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
