About the Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Support pupils in developing strong skills across reading, writing, mathematics, and foundation subjects
- Prepare pupils effectively for statutory assessments where applicable
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to ensure high standards of achievement
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Lead and support your year group team, promoting collaboration and consistency across planning and teaching
- Work closely with senior leaders to support pupil progress, behaviour, and year group outcomes
- Mentor and support colleagues within the year team where appropriate
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and whole-school events
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2
- Previous middle leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Year role
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations
- High expectations for pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development
- A collaborative and proactive team player
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
