To support the delivery of high-quality parenting assessments within a residential family setting, contributing to observations, recordings, and day-to-day support of families under assessment. This is a development role, designed for individuals progressing into family assessment work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support structured observations of parent-child interactions
  • Record daily observations clearly, factually, and in line with assessment frameworks
  • Contribute to evidence gathering under direction of senior staff
  • Build professional, boundary relationships with parents
  • Support routines (feeding, sleep, emotional regulation guidance)
  • Model safe and appropriate parenting behaviours where required

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience working with children, families, or in residential care
  • Experience in a Health and Social Care setting
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent)
  • Exposure to family assessment environments
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice
