We are seeking a dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Tooting.

About the Role

You will lead a small class of up to 10 primary-aged pupils who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning barriers. With the support of experienced Teaching Assistants and a highly skilled pastoral and therapeutic team, you'll create a nurturing, structured, and inspiring learning environment that helps every child reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a creative, differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that encourages engagement and self-belief.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and outside agencies to support holistic pupil development.
  • Use restorative approaches and trauma-informed practice to promote positive behaviour and relationships.
  • Track progress and celebrate both academic and personal achievements.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - essential.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs (PRU experience desirable but not essential).
  • Creative, patient, and flexible approach to teaching and behaviour management.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in children's lives.
