We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist 16+ SEN school in SM6, with an ASAP start available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs as they prepare for adulthood, further education, employment and independent living.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of students aged 16+.

You will work closely with support staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure every student is supported to make meaningful progress.

The school supports young people with a range of additional needs, and the successful candidate will need to be patient, adaptable, nurturing and confident in managing a range of SEN needs and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for students aged 16+
  • Differentiate learning to meet individual SEN needs
  • Support students to develop their academic, social and life skills
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence
  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate teaching qualification
  • Previous experience xgikmsk working within an SEN setting
  • Experience supporting young people aged 16+ is desirable
  • Strong understanding of SEN and differentiated teaching
  • Confident behaviour management skills
  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to helping young people achieve their full potential
