We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in the KT3 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people (post 16) with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist students with their academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Support the delivery of tailored learning programmes under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet individual pupil needs.
- Assist with personal care where required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people with special educational needs.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEN.
