Uniform Education is recruiting a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming school in West Drayton. The successful candidate will provide tailored, individualised support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
About the Role:
- Provide focused, individualised support to a pupil with special educational needs (e.g. Autism, communication difficulties, or learning delays)
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to suit the pupil’s needs
- Use strategies such as visual supports, Makaton, or sensory-based approaches to aid communication and engagement
- Support social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and independence
- Encourage positive behaviour and a consistent learning routine
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent progress
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment for learning
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school setting (essential)
- Knowledge of Autism, communication challenges, or learning difficulties (desirable)
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to assist with personal care or manual handling if required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
