Responsibilities
- Provide high quality learning and teaching within the school.
- Teach a range of PSHE topics and skills to prepare students for life outside of education.
- Deliver positive behaviour management and support the social development of students.
- Work in partnership with parents and carers to support the education of their children.
- Plan differentiated work to meet the needs of individuals and groups, promoting progression, continuity and quality of learning by setting clear intentions and using knowledge of school policies and National Curriculum requirements.
- Support the pastoral needs of students by creating a safe, nurturing space that fosters growth, positive self‑concept, emotional resilience and self‑esteem.
- Accurately assess needs, deliver teaching responsive to those needs and measure targeted incremental progress so students are prepared for transition and integration into the next phase of life.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (essential).
- Recent experience of teaching pupils/students with special needs, including autism and a range of challenging behaviour, to a high standard.
- Experience of working with clear guidelines, procedures and adherence to safeguarding and child protection.
- Proven ability to demonstrate and lead outstanding classroom practice, including innovative curriculum development and planning.
- Evidence of effective target‑setting to promote student progress.
