We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our growing Birmingham office. Our Birmingham office is looking for an organised and proactive European Road Freight Forwarder to support our growing European operations. The primary focus of the role is coordinating international road freight shipments across Europe, managing movements from booking through to final delivery while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance. Applicants must be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK.
The role involves:
- Coordinating European road freight imports and exports
- Planning, managing and tracking shipments across European routes
- Liaising daily with customers, hauliers and European partner agents
- Sourcing competitive transport solutions and negotiating carrier rates
- Preparing transport and customs documentation including CMRs, T1s and shipment records
- Proactively managing delays or operational challenges
- Providing regular updates to customers and maintaining strong working relationships
- Ensuring compliance with customs regulations, post‑Brexit requirements and transport legislation
- Maintaining accurate operational and financial data in internal systems
- Working collaboratively with the wider Uniexpress operations teams
The role requires:
- Previous experience in European road freight forwarding or international logistics
- Strong knowledge of groupage, part‑load and full‑load European movements
- Understanding of customs procedures and European transport compliance
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
- Commercial awareness and a solutions‑focused mindset
- Competent IT skills and experience using transport management systems
