Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner – Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care by promoting Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) across services.
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments to understand needs, triggers, and communication barriers.
- Develop and implement personalised, strengths‑based PBS plans aligned with individual goals.
- Work closely with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to support skill development, emotional regulation and independence.
- Coach and train staff to confidently apply PBS approaches, ensuring consistent and compassionate practice.
- Monitor behavioural data, evaluate outcomes and update plans to ensure effectiveness.
- Promote the reduction of restrictive practices, ensuring ethical, safe and least‑restrictive support.
- Support service stability, transitions and crisis planning while championing dignity, autonomy and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews and reports, and ensure compliance with safeguarding and best practice standards.
