We are an established residential care home supporting adults aged 21–80 with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism. We are seeking an experienced, motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in running the service, leading and developing the team, and maintaining high standards of care.
As Deputy Manager you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring the needs of service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring quality of care, maintaining compliance with external regulatory standards, and supporting the implementation of policies, procedures and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operational management of a busy residential service
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff
- Conduct supervisions and appraisals
- Support HR processes and performance management
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, MCA, and DoLS
- Promote person‑centred care
- Maintain regulatory standards
- Demonstrate written communication skills for record keeping
- Remain compassionate and professional during challenging times
- Work alongside clinical professionals
- Lead and delegate appropriately during shifts
- Assist individuals in crisis to manage behaviours
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Residential care experience
- Knowledge of safeguarding, MCA, DoLS and medication administration
- Experience with digital recording
- HR and staff management experience
- Experience with supervisions and appraisals
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Energetic and proactive attitude
- NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3/5 (or working towards)
- Experience working with individuals with communication difficulties (desirable)
- Sound working knowledge of CQC Regulations and Standards, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards (desirable)
