We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Teacher to join our team at Craig y Parc, working within a highly supportive, trans-disciplinary environment to deliver outstanding education and care for children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Key Responsibilities- Lead a class and work collaboratively with education, care and therapy professionals to meet the holistic needs of pupils.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the school’s curriculum and Ambito’s strategic direction.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons informed by effective assessment and pupil progress tracking.
- Implement group and individual education programmes, contributing to class and whole-school curriculum development.
- Ensure excellent standards of physical, emotional and personal care, including hygiene, health and safety.
- Maintain high-quality record keeping, planning, assessment and reporting.
- Contribute to and attend pupil-centred reviews, meetings and annual reviews.
- Work in partnership with parents/guardians, external agencies and dual placements.
- Support innovative use of technology to enhance communication and learning.
- Promote a positive, safe and well-maintained learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, quality, health and safety, and organisational policies.
- Participate in staff training, professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Support continuity of education during absences through effective planning.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Principal / Head of Education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – DfE number required.
- Degree-level qualification.
- Experience teaching pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a trans-disciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned to the school curriculum.
