A well-established engineering company specialising in bespoke machinery and automation is looking for a practical, detail-focused Electrical Technician to join its team. You’ll work on unique, technically challenging equipment for clients in high-tech and regulated industries.

The Role

  • Build and wire electrical systems using schematics and project documentation
  • Install and test control panels, sensors, motors, drives, and field devices
  • Support fault-finding, testing, and commissioning
  • Assist with installation and modification work at customer sites
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement

About You

  • Strong hands-on electrical skills and engineering aptitude
  • Familiarity with industrial components (switchgear, PLCs, servo drives, sensors)
  • Methodical, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Good communicator with a positive, professional attitude
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Level 2/3 Electrical Engineering qualification or recognised UK electrical apprenticeship
  • Practical experience in machinery electrical build (panel and field wiring)

Desirable:

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Experience with bespoke/special-purpose machinery
  • Understanding of the Machinery Directive

What’s Offered

  • £13.00–£23.50 per hour depending on experience + overtime
  • 40-hour week with some flexibility
  • 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays
