We're looking for a passionate and experienced QA Manager to lead the quality assurance efforts for our Cambridgeshire based client, ensuring their products and services meet the highest standards expected by customers around the world. This is a pivotal role for someone ready to shape, lead, and continuously improve quality and compliance across a forward-thinking engineering business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Quality Leadership
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous quality improvement
- Report on key quality metrics (KPI) and lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives
- Coach and mentor teams in quality best practices
- Customer & Supplier Quality
- Act as the key point of contact for quality and reliability queries
- Support issue resolution through structured root cause analysis (5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone)
- Collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain on customer/supplier QA agreements and evaluations
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure product compliance with applicable standards (e.g., CE, UKCA, TSCA)
- Identify and implement training needs to uphold regulatory requirements company-wide
- QMS & Certification Management
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead the successful retention of ISO9001 certification and external audits
- Support development of standardised processes and documentation across teams
- Health & Safety
- Partner with HR to maintain and develop a safe, compliant workplace
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong experience in a QA/QC leadership role within engineering or manufacturing (electronics experience a plus)
- Solid understanding of ISO9001 and regulatory frameworks (CE, UKCA, TSCA, etc.)
- Proficiency in quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, MTBF analysis)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
