A manufacturing business based in Newport is looking for an experienced Welder to join its on-site production team. The company specialises in designing and producing precision-engineered stainless-steel equipment for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and life-science environments. Its products include clinical sinks, decontamination systems, bespoke fabrications, and specialist workflow solutions — all built to exceptionally high standards.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using a range of welding techniques to ensure every product meets strict quality, safety, and performance requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Performing MIG, TIG, and arc welding
- Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, and cleaning
- Inspecting welds to ensure they meet quality standards
- Repairing and maintaining metal structures and equipment
- Operating welding tools and machinery safely
- Working closely with engineers and production teams
- Maintaining accurate records of completed work
About You
Proven experience as a welder or similar role. Welding certification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) preferred but not essential. Ability to read technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and precision. Good understanding of safety standards. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Key skills: MIG, TIG, and arc welding proficiency, problem-solving, manual dexterity, time management, and clear communication.
Working Environment
Workshop/manufacturing setting. Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment. May involve standing for long periods and lifting materials.
What’s on Offer
