An established provider of specialist medical and life-support equipment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its growing UK Service Team. This role offers the chance to play a vital part in supporting life-changing technology used across hospitals, clinical environments and homecare settings.
The Role
The Field Service Engineer will deliver a first-class repair, maintenance and technical support service to customers nationwide. Working remotely and travelling across the UK when required, the postholder will ensure equipment is safe, reliable and performing at its best.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing, diagnosing, repairing and calibrating equipment to high technical standards
- Planning and managing workload to meet service expectations
- Providing technical support and responding to service queries
- Building strong, professional relationships with clinical teams and other stakeholders
- Delivering product demonstrations or training when required
- Maintaining accurate documentation for all service activity
- Identifying service contract opportunities in the assigned territory
- Participating in the out-of-hours support rota for emergency technical assistance
- Collaborating with sales, marketing and R&D colleagues to ensure excellent customer care
About You
Essential:
- Experience in a technical service role using tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with hospital staff and clinical teams
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (plus occasional overseas trips)
Desirable:
- Experience with operating theatre or critical-care equipment
- Background in healthcare or medical devices
- Understanding of clinical application and patient-care environments
The successful candidate will be technically confident, customer-focused and able to work independently. A quick learner with strong problem-solving abilities will thrive in this role.
