Facilities Operative Location: Waterbeach Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm About the Role: We are seeking a Facilities Operative to join our client’s team and provide daily maintenance support for the facility. Reporting to the Facilities Advisor, you will play a key role in maintaining site standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols, and supporting both production and office needs. Key Responsibilities: Comply with and promote site safety procedures. Perform general site maintenance, including plumbing, joinery repairs, and grounds upkeep. Conduct site inspections and checks to ensure a safe and efficient environment. Liaise with contractors to ensure work is completed to high standards and on time. Support environmental initiatives and implement visual factory/5S improvements. Provide production and office support, responding to general and emergency maintenance needs. Understand and address basic engineering systems, such as HVAC and plumbing. Skills and Experience Required: Proactive and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (or equivalent). Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Comfortable working at height. Valid forklift and driving licenses (essential). Other Requirements: Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet production goals. Availability for emergency callouts and production support.
