We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate to join our client's growing office team based in Chittering, Cambridge. The successful candidate will assume the role of Part-Time Human Resources and Health & Safety Coordinator supporting the senior management team. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the company-wide Health and Safety Procedures in addition to playing a key role in supporting the smooth running of HR operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within the H&S/HR sector.

Key Responsibilities (Office Assistant):
  • Answering phone calls, directing calls to appropriate personnel, taking messages, greeting visitors and directing them to the correct location.
  • Scheduling and minuting meetings.
  • Preparing and distributing internal and external letters and emails.
Key Responsibilities (HR Assistant):
  • Maintaining accurate employee files, updating personal information and managing employee data in HR systems.
  • Supporting Management with adherence to labour laws, updating employee handbooks, and maintaining necessary compliance documentation.
  • Supporting Management with new employee onboarding including conducting orientation sessions, setting up employee accounts, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Answering employee questions regarding benefits plans, assisting with enrolment processes.
  • Addressing employee concerns, facilitating communication between employees and management.
Key Responsibilities (H&S Assistant):
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, near miss reports, accident investigation reports, and safety inspection findings.
  • Conducting routine safety inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying potential hazards, documenting findings and reporting issues to relevant personnel.
  • Assisting in conducting risk assessments and identifying control measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Coordinating and supporting safety training programs for employees, including new employee inductions and refresher courses.
  • Assisting in investigating workplace incidents, gathering information, and documenting findings to prevent future occurrences.
  • Implement and manage Health and Safety procedures.
  • Communicating safety policies and procedures to employees through various channels, including posters, emails, and meetings.
  • Supporting Management with ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and company safety policies.
  • Maintaining safety documentation, updating safety manuals, filing safety reports, and managing safety equipment inventory.
  • Support audits and address health and safety inquiries from external enforcement agencies.
Knowledge/understanding of:
  • Employment laws and regulations.
  • Relevant workplace safety regulations and standards.
