Are you the kind of marketer who loves connecting the dots between channels, markets, and customers – and then watching the numbers move? As our

Digital Marketing Lead for South Africa and Europe, you’ll own Unicorn’s digital presence across key markets, turning brand awareness and product love into measurable growth.

About Unicorn Inc.

What is a unicorn?

A legendary creature, sure – and also the national animal of Scotland, which is where our story kicks off.

At Unicorn Inc., we channel that same rare, slightly magical energy into helping people live more active lives, one ridiculously fun product at a time.

We bring disruptive brands to the UK, Europe and South Africa, focusing on gear that doesn’t just perform, but brings joy to people’s lives.

Our partners are agile, growth‑hungry and unafraid to shake up their categories - and so are we.

From our home base in Scotland, with teams in Amsterdam and South Africa, we back this up with unrivalled operational capabilities, omni channel expertise and a willingness to step into the unknown.

We like to think we’re the behind‑the‑scenes sidekicks helping our customers look good, move more and win a little bigger.

We’re a small, dynamic crew that believes in hard work, creativity, growth and having fun while we’re at it.

We are the exclusive UK and European partner for goodr, Versus Socks, Sprints and Body Glide, and the exclusive partner for Grayl in the UK and Ireland.

About The Role

Based in our South African office, you’ll be responsible for developing, owning and optimising the digital strategy that supports our disruptive brands across South Africa, and wider Europe.

You’ll work closely with our UK office and wider European team to align campaigns, share insights, support launches, and make sure our digital activity reflects both local market needs and Unicorn’s broader commercial goals.

You’ll also be supported by a Junior Digital Marketing Executive with day-to-day campaign delivery, general digital marketing activity, and asset production.

If you’re equal parts strategist, doer, and optimiser – comfortable jumping from a Meta Ads dashboard to a landing page brief to a performance report – this role gives you the chance to build something with real regional impact while partnering cross functionally across teams and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the digital marketing strategy for Unicorn’s brands across South Africa and Europe, aligned with commercial, sales, and brand objectives.
  • Work closely with the UK office to align on campaign priorities, product launches, brand messaging, and shared commercial goals across markets.
  • Partner with colleagues in the UK office on planning calendars, campaign execution, reporting, and the sharing of best practices between regions.
  • Lead the planning, optimisation and performance of campaigns across key digital channels, including paid media, SEO/GEO, email/CRM Flows, affiliates, website and performance media.
  • Manage paid media strategy and spend across key platforms (e. g., Google Ads, Meta and other relevant platforms), including budget recommendations, audience targeting, creative testing and optimisation for ROAS, CPA and revenue performance.
  • Oversee Unicorn’s web and landing page experience for key markets, working with internal teams and partners to ensure pages are on brand, userfriendly, and conversionfocused.
  • Create and/or brief engaging digital content (social posts, emails, landing page copy, basic blog or campaign content) that reflects Unicorn’s brand voice while being tailored to local markets.
  • Coordinate digital launch and alwayson activity with sales, trade marketing, distributor/retail partners, and the UK office to support product launches and inmarket promotions.
  • Own the affiliate marketing strategy across relevant markets, identifying growth opportunities and monitoring performance against revenue and profitability targets.
  • Track, analyse, and report on performance across channels and markets, using analytics tools and platform dashboards to generate clear insights and action plans.
  • Run a testandlearn programme across channels and markets (e. g., A/B testing creatives, audiences, landing pages) to continuously improve CTR, conversion rate, and customer lifetime value.
  • Monitor digital trends, competitor activity, and platform changes in South Africa and Europe, identifying opportunities to experiment and scale what works.
  • Maintain consistent brand standards and messaging across all markets, while enabling appropriate localisation of language, creative, and offers.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and freelancers where needed, including briefing, quality control, and budget oversight.
  • Contribute to building simple, repeatable digital marketing processes, campaign toolkits for partners, calendars, and documentation so the function can scale as Unicorn grows.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • 4+ years in Digital Marketing. Bonus points if it’s with a CPG company.
  • May or may not have a degree... we don’t care.

• Detail oriented, doesn’t every job description say this?

  • Be proactive! Know how to google a question to solve a problem.
  • Must have a good attitude and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Owning a unicorn or golden retriever is a big plus.
  • Love getting and giving feedback.
  • What You’ll Get
  • To be part of a company that’s fun and growing quickly.
  • Cover letter showing us the human behind the computer.

Please don’t send a corporate-speak, AI generated letter.

We want to learn more about you and why you think you’re a great fit for the role.

  • And a drawing of a Unicorn. Yep, we’re serious. We don’t care if it’s a work of art or a scribble, but if you don’t include it, we don’t look at your CV.

What is a Unicorn? Well, it is a mythical creature and happens to be the National Animal of Scotland. And…
