The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

20 hours per week, based fully on site. We offer some flexibility when agreeing start and finish times, which we’re happy to discuss during the application process. Once agreed, hours will be fixed, with the requirement to work until 4:00 pm on one designated day each week.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Officer will provide hands‑on, generalist HR administration and support across the business. This is a varied, practical role covering the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on day‑to‑day HR processes, administration and employee and management support. The role will also involve providing routine HR guidance in line with Northern Ireland employment law and existing company policies and procedures, with support from the HR Director as required. The successful candidate will work closely with employees and managers on day‑to‑day HR matters, ensure HR records and processes are maintained accurately, and support the smooth running of HR activities. As part of a small and agile business, the HR Officer will be expected to take a flexible, practical approach and work independently when required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a professional, welcoming and solutions‑focused HR service to all employees and managers, acting as the first point of HR contact.
  • Provide hands‑on HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including starters, leavers, records management and compliance.
  • Support end‑to‑end recruitment activity, including preparing and placing adverts, coordinating interviews and managing candidate communication.
  • Prepare employment documentation and support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Provide administrative support for absence management, performance management, probation reviews and employee relations processes.
  • Support and, where appropriate, conduct routine workplace investigations and disciplinary or grievance processes under the guidance of the HR Director.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and other external providers to coordinate employee assessments and appointments, ensuring confidentiality and accurate records.
  • Maintain HR systems and data, including right‑to‑work checks, training records and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing initiatives, HR projects and continuous improvement, including the introduction of new or enhanced HR systems.

LEVEL OF QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HR role.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of NI employment law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently.
  • Strong IT skills and appreciation of confidentiality.
