Recruitment Officer

Location: Dewsbury (onsite)

Hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 4.00pm Friday

Reports To: Recruitment Acquisition Partner

Job Summary:

The Recruitment Officer is responsible for handling the full recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to onboarding, as well as providing some general HR support across the organisation. This role combines recruitment expertise with general HR support to ensure the company attracts, retains, and develops top talent while fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Posting and Advertisement:

o Create and manage job descriptions for open positions, ensuring they are aligned with organisational needs and culture.

o Post job openings on internal and external job boards, company websites, and social media platforms.

Candidate Sourcing and Screening:

o Proactively source candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and internal talent pools.

o Screen and shortlist applicants based on job requirements and cultural fit.

o Conduct initial interviews and assessments.

Interviewing and Selection:

o Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and department heads.

o Assist with interview techniques and ensure an effective and unbiased selection process.

o Provide feedback to candidates and support them through the interview process.

Offer and Onboarding:

o Prepare and present job offers to successful candidates.

o Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a seamless experience, from documentation to induction and training.

Internal Mobility:

o Promote internal career development by identifying potential candidates for open roles and fostering a culture of internal mobility.

o Support employees in career progression by advising on training and development opportunities.

General HR Support:

o Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance on HR policies, processes, and issues.

o Assist with the administration of employee records and ensure they are up to date.

o Support the preparation of HR reports and analytics for management to assist in decision-making.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

o Experience in either an internal recruitment role or agency recruitment.

o Varied recruitment experience from entry level up to senior management.

o Experience in managing end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing to onboarding.

o Some generalist HR experience is desirable.

Skills:

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

o Ability to assess candidates’ qualifications and cultural fit.

o Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practices.

o Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

Qualified to CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR certification (preferred but not required
