This is more than a management role. It is the chance to take registered leadership of three supported living services in the heart of Brighton & Hove and to prove that adults with the most complex needs deserve the most exceptional care. If you are a values-driven leader who refuses to settle for ordinary, we want to hear from you.

About Unicare:

Unicare Complex Care Specialist is a CQC-registered provider of supported living, complex care and community outreach operating across Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire and South London. We are a fast-growing, ambitious organisation built on a single belief: that people with the most complex needs deserve the most outstanding support. Our Brighton & Hove cluster (Wilbury, Goldstone and East Street) sits right at the heart of that mission.

The Opportunity:

You will hold registered, operational and clinical leadership across three supported living services for adults living with mental health conditions, autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge. Working within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, you will champion person-centred care that reduces restrictive practice, builds independence, and helps every individual live the life they choose on their terms.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & register: hold CQC Registered Manager status across all three services and own full regulatory compliance under the Single Assessment Framework.
  • Inspire your team: provide visible, motivating leadership to support workers, seniors and team leaders, and build a culture where staff feel valued and stay.
  • Drive PBS-led care: embed person-centred, least-restrictive practice and outstanding outcomes for people with complex and behavioural needs.
  • Own quality & safety: lead audits, quality assurance, safeguarding, MCA/DoLS, risk management and continuous improvement.
  • Partner externally: build trusted relationships with commissioners, social workers, health professionals, families and Court of Protection / best-interest stakeholders.
  • Run the cluster: manage budgets, rotas, recruitment, occupancy and performance across the three homes.
  • Develop your people: deliver supervision, training, coaching and wellbeing support that grows the next generation of leaders.

What You'll Bring:

Essential:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or actively working towards it).
  • Proven experience managing supported living or complex care for adults with mental health, autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
  • A track record of CQC compliance and Good or Outstanding outcomes.
  • Strong working knowledge of PBS, MCA/DoLS, safeguarding and CQC's Single Assessment Framework.
  • A confident, calm leader, decision-maker and relationship-builder under pressure.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a satisfactory enhanced DBS.
Desirable:
  • Current or recent CQC Registered Manager registration.
  • Experience reducing restrictive practice and delivering successful step-down transitions.
  • Knowledge of housing-related support and exempt / supported accommodation.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary + performance bonus.
  • Genuine career progression in a rapidly growing organisation.
  • Funded qualifications and a real leadership development pathway.
  • A supportive senior team, including a Clinical Director, behind you.
  • The freedom to build and shape your services your way.
  • Pension, generous annual leave, Blue Light Card and Employee Assistance Programme.
