About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and confident Female Support Worker to join our Supported Living team in Brighton. This role involves providing person-centred, trauma-informed support to adults with autism, ADHD, and complex mental health needs in a safe, structured home environment. You'll work varied shifts, including long days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, supporting individuals to develop independence, confidence, and life skills. A driving licence is highly desirable, as you may support people to attend appointments, education, and community activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support within a supported living setting.
- Support daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, and independent living skills.
- Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed approaches to manage anxiety and challenging behaviour.
- Promote inclusion and engagement in social, leisure, and community activities.
- Keep clear, accurate records and communicate effectively with families and professionals.
About You
Essential:
- Experience supporting people with autism, ADHD, or complex mental health needs.
- Strong understanding of PBS and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional resilience.
- Right to work in the UK and Enhanced Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:
- Driving licence and ability to use own or company vehicle.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- Training in Safeguarding, First Aid, or PMVA/MAPA.
- Experience in supported living or community-based care.
