We are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) to join us for an academic year, from September 2026 to July 2027. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in a future career in teaching, looking to gain ground level experience within a school.

Role and Responsibilities

  • The role of the Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at Princethorpe College is very varied and we try to accommodate the particular skills of each person.
  • Opportunities to support our Games department with involvement in teaching and coaching several sports or supporting teachers of other subjects may also be offered, i.e., Technology, or, where appropriate, Languages.
  • Support teaching and coaching in Games or other subjects.
  • Regular tasks: bus duty, playground supervision, supporting administrative staff.
  • After school study supervision and admin-based tasks such as Duke of Edinburgh's Award or House administration.
  • Flexibility: liaise with line manager over unexpected and significant jobs.
  • Support weekend or evening events: Entrance Exam Day, Open Days and Progress Evenings.
