Unic International is the UKs leading manufacturer in cleaning and recycling equipment for the paint finishing industry. A market leader within the UK market working for a varied customer base from accident repair centres to blue chip companies, exporting to 30 plus countries around the world. Our aim is to design and manufacture quality equipment that has both an environmental benefit and economical benefit to our customers; green technology is what we do. We are a small family run business with a big heart and footprint in the market, passionate about the company products and service we provide.

We are looking to fill a hybrid role supporting our field service engineer and production team, to split field work with our wide range of customers and provide production support to the production team. The candidate will support by adding additional capacity to onsite service work, including maintenance, product training and installation of Unic Equipment. Additionally, the role will be to work in the production facility helping the production team manufacture. A typical working week may entail 2 days field work and 3 days production work.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experienced with hand tools measuring and cutting
  • Comfortable with long driving days due to national coverage
  • Problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Proactive approach to work
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and honest
  • Experience with pneumatics beneficial (but not required)
  • Engineering trained
  • Team player

  • Meticulous
  • Good time keeping
  • Previous field service work beneficial (but not required)
  • Production experience advantageous (but not required)

The role entails supporting both the production team and in field service, installation and breakdown support. Production support would include:

  • Sub-assembly work for pneumatic equipment
  • Full assembly work
  • Assembly of Ex approved equipment
  • Assembly of pneumatic and electrical equipment

Field based work would include:

  • Maintain, service, install and train equipment nationwide
  • Keep the service vehicle in safe and good working order
  • Complete service worksheets and issue to the office for invoicing
  • Liaise with customers and advise on preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Possible nights away each month, with accommodation and food allowance for any time away.

Additional role information:

  • Holiday allowance
  • Full time minimum 40 hours per week including some long shifts of 10-12 hours
  • Shorter shift on a Friday to allow better work life balance
