About the Role
This is a skilled role responsible for the development and manufacture of standard and non-standard products ensuring a high quality product/project is delivered from concept to client. Working with the Development Engineer and other operatives to problem solve, provide expert advice and work on the development, production and sometimes installation of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with the development engineering team you will assist in building prototypes for new or critical client projects, calculating wiring and specifications for production.
- Create reports on the best practice for new products from the prototype build.
- Assist the technical development teams with research of components, connectors, controllers etc. to assist with improving our products for manufacture whilst achieving client expectations.
- Technical support for the sales, design and project management teams to provide advice, guidance and solutions.
- Research of relevant compliance routes for our products.
- Complete testing and reporting where required for prototype and current products.
- Attend client meetings during the sales and design process.
- Assist with design proposals.
- Attend client premises to complete site surveys, technical installation or trouble shooting visits.
- Build lightboxes or other illuminated products as per drawings and instructions from your team leader.
- Complete production work of more complex lighting, electrical or electronics products.
- Provide holiday cover for the letter bending machine.
- To work as a team and assist colleagues as required.
- To undertake any training on or off site as required to perform the role.
About You

Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years' experience programming LEDs is essential.
- Good understanding of Microsoft products (particularly Excel).
- Casambi, Teensy, DMX and Dali control knowledge (highly desirable).
- Good understanding of fabrication methods and material processing.
- Good level of electrical knowledge.
- Good understanding of low voltage cabling directive.
- Electrical or soldering experience.
- LED product and industry knowledge an advantage.
- Flexibility to work away from home or unsociable hours as and when required.
- To be able to read basic production drawings.
