We're looking for a talented individual to join our Finance Team as the Centre Finance Manager for Westfield London, on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, maternity cover.
Key objectives
The key focus of this role is to assist in preparing and presenting the annual service charge budget, management of Centre Finance month‑end procedures, re‑forecasting the service charge cost base and centre‑related CAPEX on a quarterly basis, and providing the necessary support to Centre Management stakeholders.
What you will be doing
- Budgeting and Financial Management
- Prepare and present the annual budget and forecast routines with the Centre Management team;
- Ownership of Capex accounting process and forecasting in collaboration with the Assistant General Manager, and liaising with Controlling to support updates with the Joint Venture;
- Continually review service processes to identify operating and cost efficiencies;
- Oversee all financial functions and control procedures necessary at centre level, incorporating established company policies and procedures.
- Accounting
- Oversight of month end processes;
- Tracking and reporting of centre‑related capital expenditure.
- Service Charge
- Prepare and gain approval for the annual Service Charge Budget and Retailer Packs;
- Work with Centre Management and Central Finance teams to keep tenant charges within commercially acceptable boundaries;
- Assist with annual service charge audit process;
- Assist in resolving queries from tenants regarding service charges and related matters as required.
- Centre Management Activities
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge and training in relevant operating, risk management and health;
- Attend strategy reviews and contribute to the setting and achieving of objectives.
- Team Management
- Provide clear guidance and management to all direct reports, ensuring business and personal objectives are set and achieved;
- Conduct direct report performance reviews and ensure that all staff have regular reviews in line with company policy.
- Stakeholder Reporting
- Routine and ad hoc analysis and reporting for all interested parties as and when required;
- Assist the Assistant General Manager with obtaining internal and Joint Venture consent for tenant assistance, payment plans, capital projects and other items as required;
- Assist as required with the preparation of information for annual group audit and statutory audits;
- Assisting as required with Joint Venture reporting.
What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?
- Relevant accounting qualification;
- Strong commercial experience gained in mid-level management with a proven track record of establishing policies and procedures, providing impetus and direction to financial reporting;
- Competent technical and systems skills including Microsoft Excel (essential) and accounting software (JD Edwards desirable but not required);
- People management experience;
- Evidence of strong communication skills, written and verbal;
- Working knowledge of property service charge management desirable.
