My Client who is currently one of the leading Design and Build companies in London is looking for Senior Interior Designers to join their growing team.
This is a senior design leadership role for an experienced commercial workplace designer who can own projects from first client conversation through to handover on site. The position centres on London-based office fit-outs and refurbishments, with a particular focus on high-performing, brand-led workspaces that are both people-centric and commercially smart.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning the client brief
- Lead discovery sessions to understand business goals, culture, headcount projections and ways of working.
- Convert complex client requirements into clear, inspiring workplace design narratives and proposals.
- Challenge and refine briefs to align expectations, budgets and programme.
- Shaping workplace strategy and concept
- Develop workplace strategies, test fits and feasibility studies to optimise footprint and adjacencies.
- Lead spatial planning for Cat A and Cat B environments, including focus areas, collaboration zones and social spaces.
- Create compelling concept designs that integrate brand, user experience, wellbeing and flexibility.
- Driving design delivery and technical excellence
- Oversee material, finish, lighting and furniture selections to balance aesthetics, performance and cost.
- Produce and review detailed technical drawing packages, specifications and schedules.
- Ensure all design outputs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Leading people and collaborating across teams
- Mentor and guide midweight and junior designers, setting clear design standards and quality benchmarks.
- Work closely with project managers, pre-construction, site teams and 3D visualisers to maintain design intent through delivery.
- Proactively resolve design challenges during construction, balancing site realities with design ambition.
- Being the visible design lead to stakeholders
- Act as the primary design voice in client and landlord meetings, confidently presenting ideas and defending design decisions.
- Build strong relationships with external consultants, suppliers and contractors.
- Communicate clearly with non-design stakeholders, turning technical detail into accessible, outcome-focused language.
What you’ll bring

- Significant experience in office interiors, including both Cat A and Cat B projects in the UK.
- A strong portfolio of built work demonstrating end-to-end involvement on complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Robust technical skillset
- Confident user of CAD tools, 3D modelling software (e.g. SketchUp) and visual / presentation software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Revit experience advantageous
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, detailing, joinery, coordination with services, and on-site design resolution.
- High-impact soft skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and bring them on the design journey.
- Resilience and calm under pressure, managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously without losing detail.
