Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a leading civil engineering contractor in the Bristol / Bridgwater area. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a civil engineering or groundworks background. Senior Quantity surveyors with project experience covering earthworks, sea defence, heavy civils and groundworks would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Regular & diligent review/summary of site records/diaries/allocations and compilation to ensure timely and accurate presentation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims, etc.
- Prompt presentation of applications for payment, including contractual entitlements.
- Ensure that payments are received in accordance with contract terms and correctly allocated with the accounts department.
- Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
- Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
- Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders.
- Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
- Ensuring that all contractual letters/notices and information are presented in accordance with contract requirements.
- Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.
- Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.
- Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information and building/maintaining relationships.
Qualifications and experience
Ideally from a civil engineering or groundworks background. Experience in earthworks, sea defence, heavy civils and groundworks would be an advantage.
