An international group operating across Europe is seeking a Sustainability Reporting Lead to play a central role in delivering Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reporting across its diverse range of European businesses. The role can be based in London, Vienna, Rome or Milan. This is a high-impact role at the centre of the organisation’s sustainability agenda. The successful candidate will lead the development of CSRD and ESRS reporting frameworks, sustainability data systems, and assurance-ready processes across multiple European operating companies, working closely with sustainability, finance and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and delivery of CSRD reporting, including development of project plans, reporting manuals, disclosure definitions and reporting processes.
- Coordinate ESRS data collection and disclosures across multiple European operating companies and support assurance readiness.
- Develop and document sustainability reporting processes, controls and consolidation methodologies.
- Partner with finance and sustainability teams on EU Taxonomy analysis, documentation and reporting requirements.
- Support the development and optimisation of sustainability data management systems and reporting workflows.
- Liaise with sustainability reporting leads across different divisions to ensure consistency of reporting approach across the Group.
- Contribute to additional sustainability disclosures and voluntary reporting frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and the application of AI in sustainability reporting processes.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience with CSRD reporting, either in-house or within a professional services / assurance environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CSRD, ESRS and the EU Taxonomy.
- Experience assuring or implementing CSRD within a ‘Wave 1’ organisation with experience of the full end-to-end process.
- Comfortable managing large sustainability datasets, ideally with exposure to ESG or sustainability data management systems.
- Strong understanding of reporting processes, controls and assurance readiness.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across complex organisations.
- Strong written communication skills and experience contributing to corporate sustainability reports or disclosures.
