UNDO is one of the world's leading carbon removal companies, and one of the four global winners of the $100M XPRIZE, further giving recognition and credibility to both enhanced rock weathering (ERW) and UNDO as a world leader in this field. This is a rare opportunity to shape a product that is genuinely consequential in a real-world sense. The platform you'll help define and design will underpin the global scaling of Enhanced Rock Weathering, removing carbon from the atmosphere at the scale the planet actually needs.
As part of UNDO's growth, this role is joining at a pivotal time as we design and develop an industry-leading ERW platform offering that can support rapid growth and scientific innovation. UNDO’s ERW Platform is a complete package, providing a global network of ERW Project Developers with everything they need to plan, carry out and scale ERW Operations. You will own our SaaS platform that sits at the core of this. As the first dedicated product head at a fast-moving startup, this role is very broad – offering the opportunity to have real impact. Reporting into the CPO, you will own the strategy and roadmap for the SaaS platform, as well as helping to inform the vision and strategy of the overall ERW platform.
Your role includes:
- Collaborating with our CPO to define the overall vision and strategy for our ERW Platform as a whole - and in particular the role that the SaaS platform can play within this.
- Owning the vision, strategy and roadmap for the SaaS elements of our solution - building and communicating a clear vision, getting buy-in from stakeholders and the engineering team, and ensuring alignment to the broader ERW Platform vision.
- Translating high-level roadmap items into clear, deliverable product requirements - informed by the protocols defined by our Science team, a deep understanding of the needs of our customers and close collaboration with our commercial team, marketing team and other internal stakeholders. Includes designing user journeys.
- Owning delivery quality - writing crisp user stories and acceptance criteria, working day to day with the engineering team, and personally accepting delivered work.
- Championing scientific rigour, data integrity and transparency in everything the platform does, aligned with UNDO's mission in climate and sustainability.
We'd love to see from you:
- Big picture, forward thinking. You appreciate what an industry-leading, global, SaaS platform looks like – and have a view of the way this will evolve in a world being transformed by AI.
- Passionate about user experience. You understand what makes for a good user journey and how to translate complex concepts into an intuitive experience for users.
- A translator of complexity. You know how to turn dense source material - standards, methodologies and scientific requirements - into concrete requirements a team can build.
- Hands-on. You design journeys and wireframes yourself, and you genuinely enjoy being the quality gate on delivered work.
- Technically fluent. You're comfortable in the weeds with engineers - you can follow a data-model discussion, and understand why a 'small change' sometimes isn't.
- Excited by the idea of working in a small agile team at a startup, comfortable with a fast pace, working with ambiguity and pivoting in direction as needed.
- Opinionated but collaborative. You hold strong views and express them clearly, but remain curious and genuinely open to being persuaded.
- You are excited by a hybrid role at a fast-moving startup – equally motivated by the higher level big picture thinking of the PM parts of the role, and the close collaboration with the engineering team with your PO hat on.
Your experience:
- Strong experience in product management or product ownership on a data-intensive product with complex business rules and data integrity requirements.
- Experience in a standards-driven, regulated, or scientific domain, turning evolving requirements into shippable product increments.
- Evidence of UX and user journey design work you produced yourself - you can walk us through user journeys or wireframes you’ve personally produced.
- Hands-on acceptance testing experience - you have personally been the gate on 'is this done?'
- It would be helpful, but not essential, if you have experience of any of: Carbon markets, climate tech, agritech, or environmental science; Working with verification bodies, auditors, or certification schemes; Geospatial data or laboratory data workflows.
