Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the delivery of critical infrastructure within a high-availability data centre environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in VMware technologies, particularly VMware vMotion, and hands-on experience with HPE compute and storage infrastructure. This role is pivotal to ensuring the successful deployment and stability of hypervisor-level infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads. The role will be based in an office environment with flexibility for remote working, and may involve occasional travel to data centre sites as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the build and configuration of large-scale VMware environments, including vMotion setup and optimization.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise in HPE compute and storage platforms, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure designs meet operational and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in real-time within a critical data centre setting.
- Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to support operational handover and knowledge transfer.
- Participate in technical workshops and provide SME-level input into infrastructure strategy and planning.
