Location: London – Fully remote with occasional travel to St Albans / Epsom

Rate: £650 per day via umbrella company

We are currently seeking an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join a busy and collaborative HR function. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong ER knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing a varied and complex caseload.

The successful candidate will support managers and HR teams across a broad range of employee relations matters, whilst providing practical and commercially focused advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied ER caseload including grievances, disciplinaries, performance and capability matters, absence management, wellbeing cases and contractual queries.
  • Providing expert ER guidance and support to managers and HR stakeholders.
  • Coaching and influencing stakeholders to achieve fair and commercially focused outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, internal policies and procedures.
  • Supporting organisational change initiatives and employee consultation processes.
  • Building strong working relationships across the business to promote positive employee relations.
  • Supporting ER projects, knowledge sharing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Interpreting legislation updates and translating them into practical business guidance.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring matters are managed in line with best practice and agreed timelines.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong Employee Relations and employment law knowledge gained within HR, ER or a related advisory role.
  • Experience managing complex and sensitive people matters.
  • Ability to influence and coach managers through difficult conversations.
  • Commercially focused with strong judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with the confidence to seek support where required.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Degree educated or equivalent professional experience preferred.
