Role Title: Solar Winds Architect/SME

Duration: contract to run until 13/06/2025

Location: Birmingham, 70% remote, 30% onsite

Rate: up to £708.75 p/d Umbrella inside IR35

Clearance required: Active Security Clearance is essential

Role purpose / summary

The SolarWinds Architect/SME is responsible for integrating and potential implementation and/or configuration of the organization\’s SolarWinds environment. This role requires a strong understanding of SolarWinds and its various components, including network configuration, on-boarding network devices, troubleshooting and support.

The SolarWinds Architect/SME will work closely with other IT teams to ensure that SolarWinds is being used effectively to monitor and manage the IT infrastructure within a on-premises secure environment.

Key Skills/ requirements

  • Strong understanding of SolarWinds and its various components (Network Performance Monitor, Server & Application Monitor)
  • Extensive with SolarWinds installation, configuration and administration in an on-premises environment.
  • Ability to design and implement custom SolarWinds monitoring template, alerts, reports and dashboards to meet specific design and business requirements.
  • Expert in network monitoring protocols and system performance metrics.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and troubleshooting skills to address performance issues.

Desirable Skills:

  • SolarWinds certification.
  • Experience with other monitoring tools such as Virtualisation manager, storage resource monitor.
  • Familiarity with Virtualisation technologies such as VMware VCF and storage systems.
  • Ability to understand High Level and Low Level designs, whilst able to create and update documentations.
  • Refine and improve build processes. Supporting and creating a trusted space for build SME’s.
  • Ensure documentation and activities are tracked and allocated.
