The location of the role is Paddington, London (hybrid working). The duration of the contract is 12 months. The pay rate on offer is £850 - £1000 per day (outside IR35). The client is a multinational high-street retailer.

Key skills: Extensive experience in Retail with deep knowledge of retail processes in relation to SAP.

Role Summary: The role provides design oversight and governance, mentoring and solutioning of the full implementation scope. The SAP Architect must support the programme delivery using structured methods, processes and approaches. You will work closely with senior product managers, business stakeholders, technical teams, delivery partners and programme leadership to ensure the design meets the business needs and is fully traceable through the key programme phases of design, build, test and deployment throughout the transformation journey. You will provide expert guidance on Retail business processes within the target SAP environments, ensuring adherence to best practices, alignment to SAP clean core principles where possible and leverage your industry and implementation experience to guide the organisation towards a successful business outcome.

Key accountabilities of the role:

  • Designing and implementing end-to-end SAP Retail solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, efficient architectures.
  • Providing expert guidance on SAP Retail modules, integrations, and best practices.
  • Ensuring solutions are optimised for performance, security, and compliance.
  • Supporting project delivery from concept through to go-live, including stakeholder engagement.
  • Staying current with SAP innovations and retail industry trends to recommend improvements.

Key skills and experience:

  • Strong experience in architecting SAP Retail solutions within complex retail environments.
  • Deep understanding of SAP Retail modules, including OM, MM, SD, and F&R.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of retail business processes and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications in SAP and enterprise architecture are desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Licences or certifications in SAP Retail modules and enterprise architecture are advantageous.
